Birdsong - review by Lou SonyakIt really does say something when I fall deeply in love with a television programme, this one being Birdsong.
There is something so powerful about this series that I have to urge many of you to watch and if you don’t? On your head be it, you are missing one amazing show. The love between the two characters Isabelle and Stephen just hit’s you in the face, almost makes you want to grab them from the screen and cradle their cuteness. They are breathtakingly perfect together, yet with a show such as this one you know there will not be a happy ending for the two of them.
Apart from the love aspect you also have the second main plot, war. I admit while at school I use to be in love with history, then the love faded, however watching this series just brings back all of the passion I once had. The love. It shows the trials and obstacles that they faced on a daily basis.I can not express much more, except for the fact that nearly every frame I shed a tear, it is amazingly breathtaking. I give this a 10/10. The directing of thi was spot on, really made you connect. The story well.. the story was out of this world. The people who played the characters, they really connected and they really did do this story justice. My last goal is to read the book, I love a good book. But please do watch the show.“There is nothing more, sir, than to love and be loved.”
